BROTHER, CAN YOU SPARE A DIME?
My sister Kacy was accepted into the World Teach program, which is a non-profit organization through the Center for International Development at Harvard University. She's an English teacher in Lynnfield, and she's passionate about education. She's chosen to volunteer in Namibia, Africa beginning in June 2007, to help assist in the restructuring of Namibia's educational system. Some volunteers work as resource teachers at primary schools, train other teachers, work on community English teaching projects, and work in secondary schools teaching mathematics, science, or English.
During her stay, she will live with a host family, but getting to Africa won’t be easy. Since the cost of volunteering on an international scale is significant, the cost of her placement, training, air travel, insurance, and field support for the summer will be more than $4,000. I am trying to help her with her goal of raising half of the program fee through the generous donations of friends, family, and community members, while her own personal donations will cover the remaining costs. A donation from you would help make it possible for her to contribute to a worthy and noble cause. We all want to help to make the world a better place. Kacy is going there, and you and I can help. Even $5.00 will help her towards her goal.
You can make a safe and secure donation using the link below, and all
donations are tax deductible, and WorldTeach will send you a receipt once they receive your check or your on-line donation. Thanks for any donation you're able to make. And if you can't donate financially, please send out out some good thoughts and prayers for her to have a safe and fufilling trip!
